Course Requirements
Requirements for progression through lectures and modules include watching the videos fully and completing graded quizzes.
Take notes while watching videos and reading through modules as it's important to remember and understand the content throughout the course in order to complete and pass quizzes and write your assignments. There is a lot of material to go through so don't expect to be able to easily skip back and locate answers in completed modules.
- You will be required to take Module quizzes. Your average score on these quizzes will count for 10% of your grade.
- You will be required to write assignments and record two videos. These will be submitted throughout the course and must be completed in order for you to get the most out of this training. Recall and reflection is important in learning the knowledge and skills you are building during this course. These assignments are 30% of your overall grade for the course. Please give us 7 business days to return to you feedback regarding your assignments, which will be emailed to you by your tutor or course instructor in the form of a Google Doc.
- Lesson plan submissions will be required in order for us to ascertain whether you have developed this important skill that makes you a prepared and effective teacher. Your tutor will review your lesson plans and give you feedback to improve them. These 3 lesson plans constitute 60% of your grade. Please give us 5 business days to return to you feedback regarding your lesson plans, which will be in the same Google Doc as your assignment feedback.
Assignments should be written in your own words and any plagiarism, including copy-pasting from internet resources will result in an automatic failure of the course.
There are also optional sections to comment if you have questions or to answer prompts regarding the section. This will help solidify your understanding, and Claire, our trainer, will be going through each of the comments and responding to support your learning.
More information on the breakdown of the course is in the syllabus.
Issues With Progressing To The Next Lecture?
If you have watched less than 90% of a video you will not be able to progress to the next lecture.
In some cases, our online platform software provider may not correctly track your video watching progress for a few reasons. If you are experiencing not being able to progress to the next lecture, it is likely because the software has not tracked that you have watched the whole video. In this case, please refer to the below feedback from our software provider to troubleshoot the issue. Please try these steps and if you are still having issues you can reach out to our team to manually move you forward:
"These issues can stem from several factors such as third-party software, opening another browser tab while viewing a video, browser cache and cookie settings, previously visited pages, and more.
If a student is experiencing an issue with moving forward in a Course Compliance course, we highly recommend that the student attempt to complete the same lecture again after opening a private/incognito browser or after clearing their cache. If this does not help, we would then recommend that the student attempt to try again on a different device or network connection.
Aside from clearing their cache or cookies and trying to watch the video again, it is possible that some students are opening a new browser tab and letting course videos play in the background while they multitask and browse social media or read news and as such could result in their videos progress not being tracked."
